How to Set Up a Small Business Website Quickly and Easily with WordPress.
If you’re bogged down with all the hassles involved in setting up web pages on a traditional website, give WordPress a try.
This "Internet Bloke" website was ready to use in about a couple of hours – and that included adding some content as well. Wordpress is an application that is used by countless people all over the world to quickly build reliable, easy to update websites.
And Google LOVES these sites – and visits them often.
I recommend Wordpress to anyone who want to start putting up small business web pages.
All you need is the following:
- Your own domain name
- A Web Hosting account (Preferably with Fantastico, which makes the installation of a Wordpress blog very easy)
- Some time to learn how to get everything operational (or you can pay someone to do this for you)
Here’s a video which shows the steps involved in setting up a Wordpress blog
Use Wordpress for Traditional type websites too.
WordPress was developed for blogging, but can also be used to quickly and easily build a normal website using traditional type pages.
After it has been set up, you can maintain your site very easily from any computer that is connected to the internet.
Many powerful features are built into Wordpress – and loads of add on applications (usually free) are available to customise it to your needs.
There are also many thousands of templates available. Once they are installed, you can change the entire look of your site with a few clicks of your mouse.
Have a look at http://themes.wordpress.net to see the wide range of free themes that are available.
Do a google search for “wordpress themes” and you’ll find lots of free and paid themes.
