Is Your Site Listed on Google?
Go to the main google search page at www.google.com

In the search box, type in site:yourdomainname.com

Google will return a list of all the pages that it has indexed on your site.
At the top right, it also tells you how many pages on your site are indexed.
Have a look at this list.

Are the titles of the page meaningful? If not, you need to work on the Title tags for each page. Try to make them different, and relevant to the content of each page.
The title tag is one of the most important things on your page. And should contain keywords relevant to that page.

Eric G.

P.S. Google also indexes PDF files that are on your website. If you didn’t know that, check to make sure that you don’t have any unprotected confidential documents on your website.

  • Yep I do this little test occassionally.

Mainly to check out what forums I am a member of, show up in a search. As I use my business name and my own name on these forums it is often interesting to see if GOOGLE link them up.

Using c/panel also shows up these links from other sites.

I have learned to get better coverage, I need to change my header to something more specific. eg, CUSTOM BUILT FISHING RODS TASMANIA>

What is your opinion GURU ?.

    That’s exactly right Paul.
Google regards the title of your web page as one of the most important indicators of the topic of the page.

    cheers, EG.
