The Back Room is a supportive, private forum for small business owners where you can ask questions about all aspects of setting up, maintaining, and growing your online business.

(Or maybe get a second opinion about what your own  IT guru or product supplier has  told you.)

If you’re like most business owners, you’ll have lots of internet and website related questions swirling around in your head which nobody can seem to answer for you.

You’ve probably fallen for various sale pitches and wasted a lot of time and money on things that have not produced the results you were expecting.

So the purpose of this forum is to help you get on track to achieve the results you want to get from your online business.

You can ask questions about what you want to do, and I’ll share my thoughts about the best ways to do it.

Or you can learn a lot just by browsing through the questions other people have asked, and the answers they have received.

It’s going to be the sort of place where you’ll have “AHA” moments that will increase your efficiency and productivity, save you hours of time, and very possibly lots of money.

(A 5 minute conversation I had with a client recently saved them over $12,000)

By using a private forum, I can share my knowledge with many more people at a fraction of the cost of a private consultation.

The Back Room is all about helping you setting a direction for your online business, and helping you along your way.

It’s not for raving on and on about technical stuff, so don’t worry – it won’t be boring.

Here’s the sort of topics we’ll discuss:

  • What sort of online business do you want to build?
  • What do you want your site to do?
  • What sort of website do you need?
  • How much should you spend?
  • Pros and Cons of making your own website
  • Hints, Tips, Tricks, and Shortcuts
  • Domain Name and Web Hosting help
  • Ways of selling your knowledge, products, and services.
  • WordPress and Blogging
  • Search Engines – Tall Tales and true
  • Keyword Research
  • Gadgets, Software and Hardware reviews (In a closed, private forum, I can say what I REALLY think)
  • Making Money on the Internet – Methods used, and Skills needed
  • Services exchange between forum members
  • How the Internet Bloke website has been built
  • Plus lots more

There’s a few more things you need to know.

2. You’ll also receive free access to a library containing  many different resources on a wide range of topics.

3. The Back Room will provide you with totally independent information, and you won’t be bombarded with advertisements or Google Adwords. However, I may recommend products from time to time that I have found useful.

    Eric,

My question is: when a small business owner works with a web developer to change/create HTML code, or any other, how do you forward the work without disclosing everything about the site. Do you just send 1 file or something like that?

    Thanks,

    Brian

You would normally provide a web developer with login codes to your site so that they can access all the files.
If you don’t trust the developer to have this access, then you probably find one that you DO trust.
Having said that:: depending on the type of website, it may be possible to give the developer access to the parts they need, without giving access to the entire admin facilities of your site.
