Here’s a polite way to get rid of those telemarketers who disturb your day with their sales pitches.
Just say to them -
“ Our fee for listening to sales calls is $25.00, plus $10 per minute payable by credit card. This conversation will also be recorded for training purposes.
If you do not accept these terms, please hang up now. “
(I’ve found that most will hang up at this stage. )
If they don’t hang up say this: (talk over them if necessary)
Thank you for agreeing to our terms. What is your credit card number.
Just keep repeating this as many times as necessary (I haven’t had to say it more than 2 times
Everyone I’ve tried this on has hung up by this stage.

Funny! There are two I use…
“Hi, its not convenient for me right now, can I have your home phone number, and I’ll call you back shortly”
and, when they ask for any information from me:
“I’m sorry, I can’t verify who you are – you called me out of the blue. You understand that I need to know who I’m talking to before I provide personal details. Could I trouble you for your contact number and I’ll call you back to verify who you are?”. I usually forget where I may or may not have written down their number.
Both work like a charm.
I really liked your blog!

Or if you are bored, use some of these funny tactics to get them to hang up on you. After time, you won’t get any calls. It has worked for me on two different phone numbers.
