You would normally provide a web developer with login codes to your site so that they can access all the files.
If you don't trust the developer to have this access, then you probably find one that you DO trust.
Having said that:: depending on the type of website, it may be possible to give the developer access to the parts they need, without giving access to the entire admin facilities of your site.

Eric,

My question is: when a small business owner works with a web developer to change/create HTML code, or any other, how do you forward the work without disclosing everything about the site. Do you just send 1 file or something like that?

Thanks,

Brian

Hey fellow Graudins! GREAT advice on your website, many thanks. Looking to promote my website to the top of the category Voice Talent, turning out to be quite a task, but your tips may help. Stay well!

Roboform is unethical. After advertising for years that upgrades were free (which is a big part of what motivated me to buy) they reneged on their word and have told me I must purchase an upgrade to go to Roboform version 7. Since version 7 is required for Firefox 6 (or 5, or 4!) I either must succumb to their piracy or go through the pain of switching. It'll be a pain... but it's worth it to not support dishonesty.

Here's the link that advertised free upgrades when I bought the product: http://web.archive.org/web/20080822215550/www.roboform.com/why-pro.html

But their advertised word is meaningless today!

Back linking is dying and it should. The fact that you can buy linking services strips its value and relevance. Most high ranking pages were garbage piled high with useless words and confusing web designs.

High quality well researched content created with the reader in mind will rule the search engines. I publish articles online weekly without any back linking voodoo. I receive quick indexing and ranking because of the quality, not tricks.
