I often get asked “What’s with the Two Heads?”
There’s two answers to that.
Firstly, they represent the two very different worlds I work with:
The traditional Small Business Owners in the real world, and the Internet Marketers who operate in a virtual world.
Both groups are very different, yet there’s a tremendous amount that each group can learn from the other.
I try to be a “bridge” between those different worlds, as I live in both of them.
The skills and experience I have gained during my life give me a unique insight into many of the issues that concern people in both of my “worlds”.
In the physical world, I started with a very practical grounding as a fitter and turner and a toolmaker. I’ve worked briefly as a long distance transport driver, and then gained experience in a variety of small business, government, and non profit organisations. I also earned an accounting degree over 7 years of external study, if that’s of any relevance to you.
In the virtual world, I’ve been working with small business for over ten years, providing them with the advice and services that they need to grow their online businesses.
I also own a few internet marketing related websites, and spend a lot of time keeping up to date on internet marketing developments, and often share my knowledge in many online forums, etc. I’m currently a moderator on an Internet Marketing forum that has over 20,000 members, where I provide assistance and advice to newcomers to Internet Marketing.
This unique mixture of skills and experience gives me the ability to relate to people in both worlds. Why not sign up to my newsletters to see what you can discover to put you ahead of all the others in your particular “world”?
Secondly, the reason for two heads is branding, identification, and a bit of fun.
I live on a little island underneath Australia, called Tasmania.
It’s sort of “The Land Downunder the Land Downunder”.
The local folklore goes that the place used to be full of inbred people, some of whom had two heads. (It’s not true).
But it’s a good yarn to tell, and the two heads certainly works as an attraction getter .
Here’s a link to a Tasmanian site that explains it a bit better (Warning: turn your speakers down) www.theInternetBloke.com/2heads
How the Internet Bloke Can Help Your Business
Most business owners wouldn’t have a clue how their website or online business works because they think its too technical, and too complicated.
They farm everything off to a website developer and often give them full authority to do anything they like. This can result in high expenses, poor results, and a total loss of control of your online business because you can be literally “held to ransom” by your web developer.
It doesn’t have to be like that, when you take control of the development of your website.
Your website is a “jigsaw puzzle” containing many pieces. One of which is the website files created by your developer.
YOU should have knowledge and control of all the pieces, NOT your developer.
If you don’t know how everything works and don’t have access to all the pieces, then you are not in control of your online business. Even worse, your entire website might not even belong to you if your developer has not done the right thing when registering your domain name.
I’ve been helping business owners with their internet needs for over ten years. I’ve seen all the tricks, and solved pretty well all of the problems that business owners encounter in setting up their online businesses.
My book Starting An Internet Business shares this knowledge with you in Plain English, and will help you to make sound decisions about setting up your online business. You could save thousands of dollars – as well as your business.
On the blog, you’ll also find lots of free information about all sorts of things of interest to small business owners who use the internet. If you want to find out more about setting up your online business, you’ll find many resources here.
You’ll be able to learn to do things for yourself, or you can just find out enough to make good decisions and hand over the actual work to others.
No matter what you want to do, there are usually a wide range of methods and techniques to do it. Ranging from free to very expensive.
- Sometimes it makes sense to use free or cheap options.
- Sometimes it’s a big mistake.
I can help you choose wisely.
If you need some personal advice for your business, we can work together by phone, email, or in person to look at the opportunities and options available to you by making better use of the internet. (See Services )
