I’ve been using the free Photo management program “Picasa” for the management of my photos for ages.
It’s the best application I’ve used for removing red eye, sending pics by email, making albums, etc. etc.
The latest version, 3.5 now adds many new features like geotagging and face recognition.
I LOVE face recognition. Picasa scans your hard drive for photos, and presents you with the faces. You then start putting names to the faces, and google will start building albums of the photos where a particular face appears.
As you provide feedback on the selections it makes, it gets more and more accurate with its identification.
After the process finishes, you can click on someones name, and see all the photos in which that person appears. You can then export these to a folder, make a slideshow and upload it to YouTube, or perform various other tasks with them.
If you are already using Picasa – grab the upgrade.
If you’ve never used it before, download it and prepare to have all your photo management problems solved.
Download it free from www.Picasa.com
